I believe that great teaching isn’t about giving students the answers, but the tools to succeed. Each and every one of my lessons is designed to make complex ideas feel clear, manageable and enjoyable. I believe in holistic education and combine the rigour of classroom teaching with the personal attention of one-on-one mentoring, helping students develop both their writing skills and their ability to think critically and express themselves with clarity.
I didn’t begin my career in education. I originally studied law and tutored on the side, but through tutoring I realised that my passion was in educating young people - and that I was pretty good at it! Teaching offered the perfect intersection of analysis, empathy and creativity, and gave me a sense of purpose. I started English with Ish to bring those values together. It’s built on the belief that tutoring should feel personal and purposeful. Teaching should feel like being guided by someone who knows the system inside out, but still sees you as a whole person and not just a test score. Over the years, tutoring for me has grown from a few after-school sessions into a trusted space for high-achieving students who want mentorship, strategies and a deeper understanding of English.
Each session follows a clear, strategic approach tailored to your goals:

Many tutors focus only on results. I also focus on holistic learning - helping students see themselves as capable writers, thinkers and communicators.
I offer:
Custom-made study guides, writing templates, and a plethora of model essays.
Support beyond lessons including around-the-clock essay feedback with a maximum 24 hour turnaround.
Proven essay frameworks used by top-scoring students
Outside of school, I spend most of my time reading, writing, or sitting quietly with a coffee and my cats nearby. Those moments of calm remind me why I love what I do. I’m also a keen baker and gardener. Both remind me that growth takes time, care and patience - the same principles that guide my approach to teaching. Teaching isn’t just my job; it’s something I genuinely enjoy. Every lesson, every essay and every conversation is another chance to help a student find confidence in their ideas and pride in their progress
